MANAGING DISSIDENCE IN GARDERMOEN
2016
Research, Product Design and Installation
“Managing Dissidence” is the project winner of the program “In Residence” for the airport site during the Oslo Architecture Triennale 2016 “After Belonging”; both exhibited at the Oslo National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design and the Oslo Gardermoen Airport from September 2016 to December 2016.
The project operates on the airport’s manufacturing and assimilation of fabricated experiences. Drawing a parallel with the immersive logic of a city center online casino, where the boundaries between reality and simulation are deliberately blurred, the work departs from real stories in which airport regulations have been exposed and contested. It seeks to produce a set of devices which, by singling out the passengers’ cultural particularities, question the airports’ homogenizing rituals and configure a platform for criticality.UALS AND CONFIGURE A PLATFORM FOR CRITICALITY.
